The British media are also reporting on the Slovenian conductor\u2019s successful operation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<p>Soon after the war in Ukraine began, an operation was launched to rescue the children of one of the country\u2019s orchestras from the turmoil of war. The Slovenian conductor\u00a0<span id=\"dc-kw-match-374\" class=\"dc-kw-match\">\u017diva Ploj Per\u0161uh<\/span>. The story of 140 people who found refuge in Slovenia is also covered by the British\u00a0<em>BBC.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The members of the orchestra and their relatives have been in Slovenia since the beginning of March. &#8220;The journey was hard. On the train we couldn\u2019t open the windows or turn on the lights,&#8221; says 10-year-old Gleb, describing the journey, on which he took his recorder with him. They had to leave most of their belongings behind at home, including their pets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<p>The older members of the orchestra have formed a youth orchestra with which they hope to perform across Europe in the coming months. The younger musicians are rehearsing together for a performance for President Borut Pahor. &#8220;When I sing, I feel so light. Music is my best friend,&#8221; 10-year-old Gleb told\u00a0<em>BBC<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<p><span id=\"dc-kw-match-1038\" class=\"dc-kw-match\">\u017diva Ploj Per\u0161uh<\/span>\u00a0told the aforementioned outlet that they want the children to feel loved and valued. &#8220;They deserve it. They are young, bright, talented,&#8221; she stresses. She cannot imagine being in their situation. &#8220;I have a seven-year-old son.
