The concert is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of<strong>\u00a0Antonio Salieri's<\/strong>, who is being honoured in Vienna, where he worked, with performances of his works, lectures and other events at various venues. Many of the concerts take place at the Musikverein itself.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\r\n\t\t<\/div>\r\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_row-full-width vc_clearfix\"><\/div><div id=\"ut-row-6aec9c533b9c1\" data-vc-full-width=\"true\" data-vc-full-width-init=\"false\" class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid vc_column-gap-0 ut-row-6aec9c533b9cb\" ><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\" ><div id=\"ut_inner_column_6aec9c533bfbf\" class=\"vc_column-inner\" ><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\r\n\t\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t\t\t<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<div class=\"dc-text-paragraph\">\n<p>The programme features Salieri's Symphony in D major for chamber orchestra, known as Veneziana, and with the orchestra of the Vienna musical society she will also perform the Concerto for Oboe and Orchestra in C major\u00a0<strong>Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s<\/strong>Oboe Concerto in C major; a new work by Czech composer\u00a0<strong>Tom\u00e1\u0161 Ille<\/strong>\u00a0and a work by the Austrian composer\u00a0<strong>Franza Xaverja S\u00fcssmayrja<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will share the stage with\u00a0<strong>Sebastianom Breitom<\/strong>, who is without doubt one of the finest oboists of our time, principal oboist of the Vienna Philharmonic and an exceptional interpreter of Mozart's Oboe Concerto in particular,\u201d she told\u00a0<em>STA<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In the view of the conductor and musicologist, Salieri is an overlooked composer, something Vienna, where he spent most of his career, wishes to change. \u201cThe myth, reinforced among the wider public by the famous film Amadeus, has done damage. In reality he was a highly respected composer and also a teacher to many, for example Beethoven, Hummel, as well as Schubert, Mozart and S\u00fcssmayr. He gained his reputation as an opera composer, and in Vienna he held high positions, such as that of court composer. He knew the Italian musical world well and was altogether an exceptionally cultivated man,\u201d said the conductor.<\/p>\n<p>She received the invitation for the concert two or three years ago, as programmes are planned several years in advance: \u201cPromoters of the orchestras I worked with during that period came to see me at one of my concerts, to get to know me personally as well, and that was followed by a conversation about concrete possibilities and programmes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doors abroad are increasingly opening for Ploj Per\u0161uh, judging by the fact that in April she was a guest conductor in P\u00e9cs, Hungary, and after Vienna she will give the world premiere in Lisbon of the new chamber opera Cafe Europa by the younger-generation Austrian composer Christoph Renhart. \u201cOpportunities abroad are opening up, but staying in the market is extremely demanding and means constant work,\u201d says the conductor.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in the summer she will lead the Slovenian Youth Orchestra's annual Summer Orchestra Camp in Ljubljana, which, marking this year's 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the founding of the United Nations, will be part of the international Sit down campaign. Through it, young people wish to call on world leaders and decision-makers to put peace and prosperity for all first.<\/p>\n<p>In this spirit they will prepare and perform the musical Peace Child, which draws its inspiration from a declaration for future generations. \u201cThe children and young people who will be this year's co-creators will express, through music, playing in the orchestra, singing in the choir and through dialogue, their thoughts on social justice, on how conflicts are resolved at every level, and on their wishes and vision for the future,\u201d said the conductor, who at the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, together with her husband\u00a0<strong>Tomom Per\u0161uhom<\/strong>\u00a0ensured that<a href=\"https:\/\/www.delo.si\/delova-osebnost-leta\/imava-novo-druzino-ki-steje-142-ljudi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0young musicians from that country found refuge in Slovenia.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project will be performed in August at Kri\u017eanke and in October at the Konzerthaus in Vienna, and is being prepared together with the Peace Child International foundation and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
