The Slovenian Youth Orchestra is excited to announce this year’s Summer Orchestra Camp POK25, which will take place from 14 to 23 August 2025, at Brdo pri Kranju. This year, for the first time, we will present a programme that includes the musical Peace Child. This musical promotes cooperation and creativity through music and is part of the broader international initiative SIT DOWN.
SIT DOWN allows young musicians to express their opinions, visions, and demands for the future through art. This initiative aims to encourage cultural exchange and mutual understanding among young people from different cultures.
The camp will host young musicians and singers, aged 12 to 22, for ten days as they rehearse together and prepare for the final concert at the Ljubljana Festival in the summer theatre Križanke. The programme does not require an audition, but basic musical knowledge, such as attending a music school, is expected.
This year, special emphasis will be placed on the themes of the United Nations and global challenges, with the goal of raising awareness and educating youth about important global issues.
will also enable participation for children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, thereby expanding access to artistic expression and strengthening social inclusion.
