Who is the free online psychological support for?
As part of the project, free online psychological supportis available, giving young people safe and accessible contact with professional help. It is intended for young people aged 15 to 29 and includes free e-counselling via an online counselling service and e-mail, as well as supportive psychological counselling by video call.
For young people aged 15 to 19 the project also provides support groups, for talking about topics such as relationships, stage fright, communication, mental health, technology and other issues that young people themselves identify as important.
The VITA project is based on the understanding that young people's mental distress is not just an individual experience, but is often linked to wider social circumstances, feelings of exclusion and inequalities. That is why the project addresses not only young people but also teaching staff, professionals, parents and guardians.
The particular value of the project lies in bringing together several interconnected areas: strengthening young people's emotional literacy and psychological resilience, accessible and anonymous psychosocial support, and encouraging young people's active participation in local communities, including through cultural and artistic activities.
Because we know how important it is for young people to find out about forms of help in good time, we invite you to share information about the VITA with your students, young people and their families. Sometimes a single shared link can be the first step towards the support someone needs.
