Last Wednesday the Summer Orchestra Camp, organised by the Slovenian Youth Orchestra under the direction of conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh, began in Ljubljana. This year it was attended by 96 young musicians aged 12 to 22 from all over Slovenia, joined by several musicians from Ukraine who found refuge in Slovenia last year. In less than a week, the young musicians learned pieces from various cabarets and musicals, and tomorrow they will perform together with the German chanteuse Ute Lemper on the stage of Ljubljana’s Križanke. For many, this was also the reason for taking part in the Summer Orchestra Camp. Nerves or not, tomorrow it’s for real.
