Unforgettable film melodies
This year's programme tells the story of the close bond between music and film. It fills us with nostalgia, takes us back into our memories, stirs our senses and thrills us. Prelude to Summer will take us through stories of films, scenes and the history of moving pictures. The programme will feature both pieces written for films and existing classical music that has been used in films. Once again, the young musicians will perform music of several genres and hone their skills in playing demanding masterpieces of the classical repertoire, original works by Slovenian composers and arrangements. Among Slovenian composers, this year we highlight Janez Gregorc, as well as Jani Golob, Marjan Kozina and the younger generation of composer-arrangers, Tomaž Kukovič, Matija Krečič, Nejc Bečan and Marjan Peternel.

This year's orchestra instruments:
violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, timpani, harp, piano.

How does the programme work?
6 hours a day: 3 hours in the morning (10 am to 1 pm) and 3 hours in the afternoon (4 pm to 7 pm), and in the evenings we get together for social and musical activities.
For the first three days, mornings are devoted to sectional rehearsals and afternoons to creative workshops.
Over the following days, all activities are devoted to preparing for the final concert, which will take place on the last day of the camp, 21 August at 20:30 at Križanke, as part of the 72nd Ljubljana Festival.
