The Slovenian Youth Orchestra and Tilen Artač are coming to 13 Slovenian towns
Ljubljana, 3 September – The Slovenian Youth Orchestra, under the direction of the internationally renowned conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh and in collaboration with the versatile artist Tilen Artač, is coming to 13 Slovenian towns this autumn. The concert tour KLASIČNI ARTAČ, will serve up a never-before-seen blend of humour and classical music. The first concert performance will take place on Friday, 6 September, at the Dom kulture Braslovče.
With the aim of bringing classical music closer to families and younger generations of listeners, we at the Slovenian Youth Orchestra have joined forces with the renowned impressionist, host and presenter Tilen Artač, who is also an academically trained cellist and very much at home behind a singing microphone. This time he will have the opportunity to combine all his talents, as he will take up the baton and lead us through a selection of the most beautiful classical melodies.
In his life Tilen Artač has taken on many characters and roles, with which he has left a strong mark. In the show Klasični Artač, Tilen faces the ultimate challenge – an orchestra. We will stroll through the core repertoire of timeless classics, on to entertaining arrangements of classical masterpieces and unexpected hits. They will be performed with virtuosity and musical refinement by selected young Slovenian musicians. The tour, which will take place in Slovenian cultural centres, will create an exceptional new opportunity to bring together audiences of several generations and interests.
The Slovenian Youth Orchestra, as part of the cultural and artistic platform ART BSA with the status of an association in the public interest, has been active since 2019 and represents a project of collaboration, enthusiasm and a vision of the future that unites and connects promising young musicians aged 16 to 26. We perform both at home and abroad, including every year at the Ljubljana Festival, and we also collaborate with well-known Slovenian and international artists such as Vlado Kreslin, Ute Lemper, Balladero, Masayah, Katalena, Jadranka Juras and world-renowned soloists.
The tour of the Slovenian Youth Orchestra with its ‘new’ conductor Tilen Artač will take place between September and October 2024 and will visit 13 Slovenian towns, including Ljubljana.
