MOČ BESEDE tour!

The Slovenian Youth Orchestra and Leopold I., after their sold-out Izštekani shows, are setting off on the nationwide MOČ BESEDE tour

A fusion of symphonic sound and rap poetry that connects generations and opens up space for honest conversation is visiting 13 Slovenian towns and cities.

Following the outstanding success of the full-length concert at a sold-out Slovenian Philharmonic and a completely sold-out performance at Val 202's Izštekani at Cankarjev dom (23 November) The Slovenian Youth Orchestra (SMO) with conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh, and one of the most recognisable voices of the contemporary Slovenian hip-hop scene, Leopold I., are setting off on an extensive tour of Slovenia.

MOČ BESEDE tour between 24 November and 9 December brings a unique experience that goes beyond the traditional concert format to 13 Slovenian towns and cities.

More than a concert: a space for honest conversation and closeness

Taking place during the festive season, the MOČ BESEDE tour acts as a catalyst for intergenerational dialogue and quality time together. Through a bold fusion of majestic symphonic orchestral power and the direct rap poetry of Leopold I., the project opens up complex social issues in a relaxed way that is accessible to young people and parents alike.

It is an experience that makes you stop and reminds you that mutual support, accepting vulnerability and genuine contact with those closest to you are what matter most in today's world. We also talked about this in our podcast, have a listen.

“I have always wanted my music to have the power of an orchestra. When I hear the strings behind me, I get goosebumps,” says Leopold I. of the collaboration.

The rich, multi-layered sound was masterfully arranged for orchestra by the composer Matija Krečič: “An orchestra is a different animal. I drew on all versions of the songs, studio and live, and had to translate them appropriately for orchestral instruments.”

Artistic excellence and social responsibility

The Slovenian Youth Orchestra, under the artistic direction of conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh, brings together the most promising young musicians aged 12 to 26. The MOČ BESEDE project once again confirms the orchestra's mission as a driving force behind innovative crossover projects with a strong social impact.

“Leopold I. won me over — not only with his dialect, but with how subtly, relentlessly, yet at the same time humorously and satirically he portrays today's social climate. Real magic happens between us on stage. Every young musician in the orchestra gets their own space and everyone is seen,” stresses SMO's founder and conductor, Živa Ploj Peršuh.

Music and conversation are coming to your town

After the capital's venues sold out immediately, the creators stress that this energy must not remain confined to a single centre. The tour will visit venues from Prekmurje to the coast, bringing open conversation to local communities.

The organisers invite audiences of all generations — young people, parents and families — to join an evening that encourages reflection and opens the way to closer connections.
