Felix Löffler studied the clarinet in Hannover and Amsterdam (scholarship from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). After eight years as a solo-clarinet player with Berliner Symphoniker, he changed and the same position to Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg in 2004. 2006-2007 he played as well as a solo player with SWR-Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. As a guest he plays with renowned orchestras like Bayerisches Staatsorchester, Münchener Rundfunkorchester, Münchener Kammerorchester, Berliner Philharmoniker, Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, Staatskapelle Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, MDR-Sinfonieorchester, Radiophilharmonie des NDR Hannover, Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover, Württembergisches Staatsorchester Stuttgart, Staatskapelle Dresden, Dresdner Philharmonie, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Essener Philharmoniker, Museumsorchester Frankfurt, Dortmunder Philharmoniker, Nationaltheaterorchester Mannheim. 2018 he played Mozart clarinet concerto at Mozart Festival Eifel. 2022 he played at Schubertiade with Apollon Musagete String Quartet. He was appointed as a professor at Hochschule für Musik Mainz in 2013 and became prorector and leader of the wind section in 2017.
