The Orchestra Academy was attended by 76 musicians aged 18-28, who were looking for professional employment and opportunities after completing their formal education. Twelve professors guided and taught the young musicians in sectional and individual rehearsals. Two symphonic programmes were prepared, including some of the most important works by geniuses such as Brahms, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and others. Klaus Arp and Živa Ploj Peršuh were the conductors.

The Orchestra Academy included the "SPEAK UP!" segment of the MIO2012 Roundtable - a segment of the project that provided a better insight into the production of classical music and demonstrated the importance of cultural integration.
