LIO: 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Marjana Kozina Hall, Slovenian Philharmonic

31. 8. 2023

The Ljubljana International Orchestra delighted its audience with an evening of sublime musical art, which enriched the jubilee of years of uninterrupted excellence. The artistic event took place in the eminent Marjan Kozina Hall of the Slovenian Philharmonic, a venue that elegantly underlined the solemnity of the entire musical celebration.

Conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh ruled the podium with enthusiasm and artistic sovereignty. She led the orchestra on an exhaustive exploration of sounds and emotional nuances. One of the highlights of the evening was the world premiere of 'Triple Goddess' by the young Serbian composer Igor Andrić. His work was created under the auspices of the European project, Sound of Change. The Ljubljana International Orchestra had the honour and privilege to present the premiere of the work to a select audience

The soloist of the evening, the outstanding mezzo-soprano Nuška Drašček, deepened the exciting cultural programme with her technically accomplished performance and her interpretation of the great Wagner's songs. The orchestra concluded the concert with Johannes Brahms' Symphony No 4.

The patron of honour of the concert of the occasion of its 10th anniversary was the Mayor of the Municipality of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković.
