The concert was prepared and performed by members of the International Orchestra of Ljubljana as part of the 'Music Up Close Network - Jump Start' project, which provides young talented musicians with international educational tours at the highest artistic level. In 2019, young musicians came from Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Japan and South Korea. Each year, the European Career Centre for Artists, in collaboration with the Music Up Close Network, offers young European musicians the opportunity to improve their skills and have a unique musical encounter with renowned artists. In summer 2019, German composer and director Heiner Goebbels was the mentor. He is one of the most important representatives of the contemporary music and theatre scene. His compositions for ensembles and large orchestras, published by Ricordi Berlin, are currently performed worldwide, as well as several of his musical theatre works and staged concerts. These are mostly works produced by Théâtre Vidy Lausanne, Ensemble Modern and the Ruhrtriennale - International Festival of Arts. He has created a wide variety of sound and video installations, which have been exhibited at Artangel London, MAC Lyon, Museum Mathildenhöhe Darmstadt, Albertinum Dresden and others. His work 'Songs of Wars I have seen', was performed as part of the Ljubljana Festival at the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana.
